The Emmy Awards are the most prestigious honor in the world of television. They are to TV what the Oscars are to film, the highest bar every actor, writer, and director dreams of reaching. Yet even a nomination alone is a mark of exceptional quality, and for viewers it serves as a reliable sign that a show is well worth watching.

If you are looking for inspiration for your next binge, here is a selection of five Emmy-nominated shows that earned the Academy’s recognition and continue to resonate with audiences and critics alike. Among them you will find sweeping period dramas, razor-sharp comedies, and gripping thrillers that will keep you glued to the screen.

Why Emmy-Nominated Shows Are Worth Your Time

An Emmy nomination is more than just prestige for the people who make the show. For the viewer, it is above all a guarantee of smart writing, outstanding performances, and top-tier craftsmanship. The following five titles prove that great television can entertain, move, and surprise you, no matter when you decide to sit down and press play.

The Gilded Age

From the pen of Julian Fellowes, the creator of the beloved Downton Abbey, comes a lavish period drama set in 1880s New York City. It follows the ruthless clash between the old-money aristocracy and the new-money magnates whose fortunes upend the established order of high society. The cast shines with Carrie Coon as the ambitious Bertha Russell, alongside Morgan Spector, Christine Baranski, and Cynthia Nixon. The series has repeatedly earned Emmy nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series, and consistently scores in craft categories such as costumes and production design.

You can watch The Gilded Age on HBO Max.

Hacks

Sharp and surprisingly tender, this comedy about the bond between two women from very different generations is some of the best television around. Jean Smart plays Deborah Vance, a legendary Las Vegas comedian who joins forces with Ava, a young and unfiltered writer played by Hannah Einbinder. Hacks won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, and Jean Smart has already collected four trophies for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series as Deborah Vance. In one record-breaking year, the show also racked up a historic 24 nominations, the most ever in the comedy category.

You can watch Hacks on HBO Max.

Abbott Elementary

If you love smart humor with a lot of heart, this mockumentary sitcom will win you over. Creator and star Quinta Brunson plays the endlessly optimistic teacher Janine, who fights alongside her colleagues for a better future at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia. The ensemble also features Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, and Lisa Ann Walter. For her performance, Quinta Brunson became the first Black actress in more than 40 years to win the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while Sheryl Lee Ralph took home the award for her supporting role.

You can watch Abbott Elementary on Hulu or Disney+.

Shrinking

This comedy-drama from Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso) offers an unconventional take on therapy and coming to terms with loss. Jason Segel plays Jimmy, a therapist who, after the death of his wife, decides to throw professional distance out the window and tell his clients the brutal truth to their faces. The biggest draw, however, is Harrison Ford in one of his rare television roles, playing Jimmy’s mentor living with Parkinson’s disease. The show has earned multiple Emmy nominations, with Harrison Ford’s remarkable performance singled out for particular praise.

You can watch Shrinking on Apple TV.

All Her Fault

Based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Mara, this tense thriller plays out every parent’s worst nightmare. Marissa, played by Emmy winner Sarah Snook (best known from Succession), arrives to pick up her young son from his first playdate. But the woman who opens the door has never heard of the boy. The supporting cast includes Jake Lacy, Dakota Fanning, and Michael Peña. The limited series became the most-watched original series launch in Peacock’s history and went on to earn Emmy recognition in the Outstanding Limited Series category.

You can watch All Her Fault on Peacock.

Quality That Never Gets Old

What all five of these titles have in common is their timelessness. Great writing, convincing performances, and careful craftsmanship make them shows worth returning to at any time. Whether you are in the mood for grand drama, honest laughter, or a hearty dose of suspense, with Emmy-nominated shows you can rarely go wrong.

The post Best Emmy-Nominated Shows You Need to Watch first appeared on PopCulture.Life.

HR departments worldwide might disagree. But we absolutely do not. Office Romance, Netflix’s new romantic comedy, arrives at exactly the right moment — and with a cast that exceeds every expectation.

Netflix added the film to its lineup on June 5, 2026. Its R rating is there for good reason: this is a romantic comedy made for adults, one that blends the sharp edges of corporate life with genuine emotion and a healthy dose of humor.

What Is Office Romance About?

At the center of the story is Jackie Cruz (Jennifer Lopez), the impeccably polished CEO of AirCruz, a small New Jersey-based airline. Jackie is the kind of boss her employees are afraid to look in the eye — and her personal life is just as empty as her calendar of free weekends.

Into her world steps Daniel Blanchflower (Brett Goldstein), a high-powered attorney brought in to shepherd the company through a serious legal crisis. The chemistry between them is immediate and undeniable. The problem? They work together — and in an ideal world, the conference room and the heart should probably stay on separate floors.

The film follows two confirmed workaholics doing their best to keep things professional. But quick glances across the boardroom soon give way to sun-soaked adventures on exotic islands, and Jackie begins to realize that it is not just her heart on the line — it is the entire company.

Written Specifically for Jennifer Lopez

The story behind this film is almost as compelling as the film itself. Brett Goldstein, best known to audiences as Roy Kent on Ted Lasso (Apple TV), wrote the screenplay together with his longtime collaborator Joe Kelly during a three-hour train ride between Manchester and London.

Both are devoted fans of classic romantic comedies, and the conversation eventually turned to a simple question: who would be their dream lead? The answer was immediate and unanimous: Jennifer Lopez — the best actress in the genre, full stop. When they finished the script, they sent it to Lopez with a message: “We wrote this for you. You’re at the top of our list. It’s a list of one. If you don’t do this, we’re not going to make this film, but no pressure.”

Goldstein later told Netflix Tudum he never took it for granted that she would say yes. “We thought this was never going to happen. We had never met Jennifer — as far as I was concerned, she was a mythical creature,” he explained. “But we could write it as a dream.”

Office Romance is streaming now on Netflix.

Lopez’s reaction made it clear why the project excited her. “I was a fan of his. People know that I’m obsessed with Ted Lasso,” she told Netflix Tudum. And her favorite character on the show? Roy Kent — Goldstein himself.

A New Kind of Role for Jennifer Lopez

What drew Lopez to the script most was who Jackie Cruz actually is. Unlike many of her previous roles, this is not a woman waiting to be saved or working her way up for someone else.

“Office Romance is the first time I’m the boss. I’m not playing someone with all these aspirations, who’s the maid or the wedding planner working for the rich people,” she said in an interview with Netflix Tudum. “Jackie built this company. It’s usually the woman who is hoping to be saved in romantic comedies. But that isn’t the case at all here. Jackie is very powerful. She has her own life. She’s not really looking for love. She’s a very different kind of character for me to play.”

The Chemistry You Cannot Fake

The film was directed by Ol Parker, the British filmmaker behind Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) and Ticket to Paradise (2022). Parker knows his way around a romantic comedy, and he knew exactly what he was looking for. “It’s contemporary and really cool,” he says. “It has a smart obstacle, and that’s really rare. I loved it.” he told Netflix Tudum.

When he saw Lopez and Goldstein together on camera for the first time, the relief was palpable. He recalled the advice of Richard Curtis — the writer behind Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral — who once told him: “You can write the best script in the world, but if people don’t want to see them kiss, it doesn’t matter.”

Goldstein reflected on screen chemistry in his own characteristically direct way, also speaking to Netflix Tudum: “I’ve got a hot new theory on how chemistry works: It’s magic. Sometimes it works with someone, and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s about being intensely present with each other and admiring your co-star in the moment while you’re filming. If you’re both connected like that, you get chemistry.”

Lopez had the final word: “You just don’t know until you meet and you start working together. But when we were filming Office Romance, you could see that there was something magical happening. When something’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”

The Cast

Alongside the two leads, the film features an outstanding supporting cast. Betty Gilpin (GLOW, American Primeval) plays Jackie’s best friend Sydney, while Tony Hale (Veep, Inside Out 2) and Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Diplomat) round out the corporate world of AirCruz. The ensemble also includes Amy Sedaris, Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who) as Daniel’s sister Lizzy, and Rick Hoffman from Suits.

One of the film’s most meaningful touches is the return of Edward James Olmos (Mayans M.C.), who played Jennifer Lopez’s father in the 1997 biopic Selena. In Office Romance, the two reunite as father and daughter again — nearly thirty years later.

When it comes to New Year’s Eve, milestone moments, or truly special celebrations, one name appears again and again: Veuve Clicquot. Its iconic yellow label has become a global symbol of luxury, confidence, and joyful success. But behind this celebrated champagne lies far more than prestige – there is a remarkable story of courage, innovation, and one extraordinary woman who reshaped the world of wine forever.

The Origins of Veuve Clicquot

The story of Veuve Clicquot begins in 1772, in France’s renowned Champagne region. At first, it was a modest wine business, one that could have easily faded into history. Everything changed, however, when its future fell into the hands of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin.

After the sudden death of her husband, François Clicquot, Barbe-Nicole found herself widowed at just 27 years old. At a time when women were expected to step aside, she made a bold and unconventional decision: instead of selling the business, she chose to lead it herself. This defining choice is still reflected in the name Veuve, French for “widow.”

Madame Clicquot: The Woman Who Transformed Champagne

Barbe-Nicole Clicquot was not merely an owner; she was a visionary entrepreneur. In an era when women rarely held power in business, she experimented, innovated, and took risks that others would not.

Her most influential contributions include refining the technique of removing sediment from champagne bottles (later known as riddling), insisting on consistent quality and clarity, expanding Veuve Clicquot across Europe – including Imperial Russia, where it became the champagne of aristocracy and royalty.

Thanks to her leadership, champagne evolved from a regional drink into a symbol of refinement, prestige, and celebration.

Why Veuve Clicquot Is More Expensive — and Why It’s Worth It

The premium price of Veuve Clicquot reflects far more than branding. It represents extended aging and maturation, carefully selected grapes from top Champagne vineyards, centuries of heritage and brand legacy and a level of consistency trusted worldwide.

Its most famous expression, Yellow Label Brut, offers a balanced profile with notes of ripe fruit, subtle brioche, and fresh acidity — making it a perfect choice for a midnight toast or a meaningful celebration.

Widow Clicquot (2023): A Story Brought to the Screen

In 2023, the inspiring life of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot reached a wider audience with the release of Widow Clicquot. The film explores her personal struggles, determination, and fearless decisions that ultimately secured her place among history’s great entrepreneurs.

For lovers of history, wine, and powerful female-led stories, the film adds emotional depth to every glass of Veuve Clicquot, transforming it into more than a drink, but a tribute to resilience.

Stream Widow Clicquot on Apple TV.

Why Veuve Clicquot Is Perfect for New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is about reflection and looking boldly toward the future. These values lie at the very heart of Veuve Clicquot.

It is a champagne that was born from courage and vision, celebrates achievement and new beginnings, turns ordinary moments into lasting memories.

Opening a bottle of Veuve Clicquot is not just about celebration – it’s about honoring ambition, progress, and the promise of what comes next.
