Since the major announcement, Miley has already released the first two songs from her highly anticipated new album, out May 30.

Aptly named “Prelude” introduces listeners to Cyrus’ first ‘visual album,’ where every song is to be accompanied by a video. The entire visual film is to be released this June. It is produced by Miley, XYZ, and Panos Cosmatos in collaboration with Columbia Records and Live Nation, and is directed by Miley Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, with cinematography by Benoît Debie.

The second song, the titular “Something Beautiful,” is a soulful track that boldly features sudden rock sequences. According to Miley’s Instagram, the song “explores her deep connection to fashion showcasing an original custom design by Casey Cadwallader for the House of Mugler in the visual.”

“This era marks another bold artistic evolution for Miley, blending music and film into an immersive experience,” she continues in the post. Rolling Stone magazine named it “one of the most ambitious projects of Cyrus’ career so far.”

According to Variety, Something Beautiful “is executive produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, who previously worked with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes.”

Together with today’s release date announcement, Miley also shared the album cover. It features Cyrus dressed in 1997 archival Thierry Mugler couture gown, as shot by Glen Luchford. 

Fans can pre-order the record on vinyl and CDs starting today via Cyrus’ official website.

The new record comes two years after her extremely successful “Endless Summer Vacation” album, released in March 2023. It was led by the popular single “Flowers,” which earned Miley her first two Grammys: for the Record of the Year, and Best Solo Pop Performance.

The new commercial, starring Cyrus, sees her walking towards the famous Hollywood sign in L.A. in a stunning Gucci outfit. With her hit single ‘Flowers’ playing in the background, the singer stars running through nature, surrounded by colorful flowers all around. 

She then jumps into a pool covered in a bed of flowers. As she walks out of the pool, we see Miley surrounded by captivating rose and yellow orchids. As the camera zooms out, we find out she is standing in front of the prominent ‘Hollywood’ sign.

Gucci says the new campaign tells “a story of empowerment and self-love, one that embodies the radiant and unexpected facets of the new fragrance.”

On filming the commercial Cyrus told Vogue:

“To me, the Hollywood sign represents making dreams a reality.”

The new Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid Eau de Parfum is available in 50ml and 100ml variants from Gucci.

Together with Pharrell Williams, with whom Miley has collaborated on several songs on her 2013 studio album “Bangerz,” the duo brings another release guaranteed to become a hit. 

After her successful 2023 Endless Summer Vacation album that brought her the first-ever Grammy win for the lead single “Flowers,” Miley is back with new music. 

For us, the new song “Doctor (Work It Out)” is a true testament to Miley’s longstanding ability to create pop hits with hints of rock music.

The music video, directed by Jacob Bixenman (who directed all of the music video from the Endless Summer Vacation album), also released today. It sees Miley dancing around a simple studio setup in a sequin dress, reminescent of her 2024 Grammys looks. 

Our review: Miley once again delivers a true pop banger. We love it.
